Our Mission

From the reason why the Jewish tribes did not eat pork to the tradition of eating wasabi with sushi, food has always been a defining characteristic of culture and community.

Throughout our year of travel, we will be exploring how food plays a role in communities across cultures, as well as how the simple act of sharing food with others shapes the way that we interact with one another.

We hope to share the stories of what dinnertime was like in the past versus now, favorite traditional gatherings where food is a component, food traditions traveling across borders, and perhaps a history of family recipes passed down through the generations.
